Job Summary:

The Radiology / Cardiology Cath Lab Technician is responsible for performing diagnostic and interventional procedures related to coronary artery disease, peripheral vascular disease, and cardiac arrhythmias. The role involves working within the Cath Lab department to support patient care through the use of specialized imaging technology and assisting with permanent pacemaker procedures. The technician must maintain certifications and collaborate with clinical teams to ensure high-quality patient outcomes in an acute care hospital setting.

Responsibilities:

• Perform coronary diagnostic and interventional procedures.
• Conduct peripheral vascular diagnostic and interventional procedures.
• Assist with cardiac arrhythmia interventions and permanent pacemaker placements.
• Operate and maintain Cath Lab imaging equipment in compliance with safety standards.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals during procedures.
• Ensure proper patient preparation and post-procedure care.
• Document procedures accurately in the electronic medical record system.
• Follow infection control and radiation safety protocols.

Required Skills & Certifications:

• Minimum of 2 years of Cath Lab or related experience.
• ARRT certification.
• Fluoroscopy Permit (pending permits considered if application submitted).
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification.
• Ability to work in an acute care hospital environment.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Experience with coronary and peripheral vascular interventions.
• Familiarity with permanent pacemaker procedures.
• Previous experience with Epic electronic medical record system.
• Local candidates preferred but not required.

Special Considerations:

• Call requirement applies; no weekend requirement.
• Facility may call off one shift per two weeks.
• Orientation period of approximately 30 hours is required.
• Scrub colors are provided for OR/Cath Lab staff.
• Pending state licenses and fluoroscopy permits will be considered if application is already submitted.
• Free parking on the first day; assignment parking provided during orientation.

Scheduling:

• Daily caseload typically ranges from 8 to 12 procedures.
• Block scheduling accommodations may be considered.
• Shift assignments and call schedules to be determined by the facility.
